Alchemy Goldsmiths, launched in June 1997, is the collaboration of jewellers, Barbara Jardine and Rachel Ross. Together, they represent over 40 years of skill and experience in their specialized field. The Alchemy Collection is distinctive for its fine craftsmanship and attention to detail. Generally, built by hand, they combine traditional 18ct gold, sterling silver and gems with natural treasures such as rare woods, amber and mother o’ pearl.

This year’s collection has a high fashion look combining organic, deconstructed forms with a limited, sophisticated palette of sultry smokey quartz, icy rock-crystal, pale gold citrines with the occasional flash of colour. Silver is the predominant metal either polished, textured, plated or oxidized mysteriously dark and pearls, lots of pearls, of every shape and size, echo the mood and colour scheme. The look is sexy and sophisticated with some whimsy and, of course, a bit of ‘bling’.

Since inception, Alchemy has grown to include two other fine jewellers, Nicholas Brown, better known as Dexter, and Alan Dimsoy, both with many years of experience. Barbara and Rachel rely heavily on them both. Their enormous technical abilities and diligence has allowed the Alchemy range to develop and grow enormously, and the designers are safe in the knowledge that the integrity of the designs will never be compromised in their hands.
