IN2ART CELEBRATE – 2009 CARNIVAL EXHIBITION

On Wednesday 18th of February In2Art opens ‘CELEBRATE’, their 2009 Carnival Exhibition. The Exhibition will showcase the work of a group of young emerging artists supported by an outstanding group of well known and established artists. The work is all based on the theme of carnival and explores a variety of experiences, styles and media.

Some of the more well known and established artists who are lending their help and support in the form of contributed work includes Jackie Hinkson, Sundiata, Che Lovelace, Susan Deyal, Shalini, Omawale, Rachel Superville and Keith Ward among others. All seasoned and practising artists, their support comes at a crucial time in the careers of the newcomers. For some this will be their first public showing on this scale.

The group of emerging artists span a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences with art. A few are recent graduates of the University of the West Indies, some are still attending and others work in various art related and creative fields. All share the common thread of a strong and passionate interest in the arts. Warren Le Platte, James Hackett, Alicia Milne, Kimi See Tai, Candice Henry, Michele Isava, Tanya Williams, Rhoda Gayadeen and Nadya Shah are just some

of the names presenting new work for ‘CELEBRATE’. The work includes paintings, graphic work, mixed media pieces, photography, jewellery and sculpture among other things.
